Conversation with the Wilderness

As we move forward, we will continue the conversation between iconic makers and the places they go through photo, video, and written exploration of what it means to benefit from the wilderness while also benefitting the world’s wild places.

Conversation With the Wilderness began with a multimedia photo show in San Francisco by Chris Burkard, Charles Post, and Meg Haywood Sullivan. The event marked the beginning of an ongoing dialogue about the relationship between adventurers and artists and the places they go to share and seek inspiration. The audience was treated to stories and insight from Charles and Meg, while the local community of artisan craftsmen created complementary goods that added to the atmosphere. Luke Bartels built a walnut wood cutting board and Tartine baked bread to cut on it. Calicraft provided locally-sourced beer, and Hanson’s of Sonoma brought organic vodka that Ryan from the host venue, the Clementina, used in custom cocktails. Combined with great stories and stunning visuals, the night was a fitting start to something special.
